Summer Dance Intensives

  • Lyrical Worship Intensive

    We are excited to offer a new summer intensive opportunity this year! Lyrical Worship Intensive is for any dancer age 11 and up who wants to deeply explore how to use dance as worship. We will creatively utilize scarves and flags, learn the spiritual significance and meaning of dancing with these props, and practice how to share our individual testimonies using words and movement. This intensive promises to be a rich and impactful week of growing as we dig into Scripture, prayer, and choreography together! The week will end with a special opportunity to use what we have learned during the week to minister in the community. Join us for this moving intensive (spiritually and physically) that we’re sure you’ll never forget!

    AGE: 11 and up

    DATE: June 10-14

    TIME: 1:00pm-4:00pm

    COST: $250 - Register for more than one camp by May 1st and receive $25 off each additional camp. Tuition due at the time of registration.

    DRESS CODE: Girls: Solid Black Leotard Any Style or Ballet Leotard, Capezio 1916 in Black or Solid Black Leggings, Bare Feet. Boys: Athletic or Sweatpants and a solid color t-shirt, Bare Feet.

  • Ballet Classique Junior: Paquita Intensive

    Immerse yourself into the story of the iconic ballet Paquita with a week long of instruction and coaching in classical ballet technique. Learn the history and story of the ballet, and dive into the world of Paquita. This intensive is sure to bring joy and excitement to learning ballet technique while developing students' love for classical repertoire! Dancers will be offered the opportunity to perform alongside our Senior Intensive dancers for a one night performance at FSSD Performing Arts Center on July 27th. Join us as we explore the ballet, Paquita!

    The ballet Paquita takes place in Spain during the occupation by Napoleon’s army. The heroine is a young Romani girl, Paquita. She doesn’t know she is really of noble birth, having been abducted by Romani people when she was an infant. She saves the life of a young French officer, Lucien d’Hervilly, the target of a Spanish governor who plots to have him killed by Iñigo, a Roma chief. With the help of a medallion with her father’s portrait, she discovers her true history and ends up marrying Lucien.

    Enrichment: Contemporary Technique, Creative Worship, Dance History, and Devotion.

    AGE: 8 & Up

    DATE: July 8-12

    TIME: 12:30pm-5:00pm

    COST: $375 - Register for more than one camp by May 1st and receive $25 off each additional camp. Tuition due at the time of registration.

    DRESS CODE: Girl’s Dress Code: black leotard, black character skirt, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, dance skirt optional. Boy's Dress Code: white fitted athletic shirt (no logos,) black tights, dance belt, black ballet shoes, hair neat and out of the face. Additional Items Needed: snack, water bottle, journal and writing utensil.

  • BLEND: Contemporary Dance Intensive

    Train with us for BLEND, a fully immersive two week contemporary intensive culminating in a special one evening performance at the FSSD Performing Arts Center. This concentrated time with our wonderful faculty is designed to take your dancing to the next level, and help you thrive when your fall classes resume.

    Contemporary dance at FSCA is a concert dance based dance style. BLEND includes classes such as, modern dance, floor work, contemporary concepts, ballet technique for contemporary dancers, improvisation, contact improvisation, contemporary partnering, dance history, careers in dance, and dance composition, along with focused study in learning original contemporary choreography. This intensive promises to push you to your artistic edge and potential! At the end of the two weeks, dancers will have an in-studio dress rehearsal on Friday the 26th, and a full day in the theater on Saturday the 27th, finishing with an evening performance celebrating the achievements and hard work of the dancers.

    Enrichment: Creative Worship, Injury Prevention, Careers in Dance, Foot Care, Dance History, Dance Composition(Choreography)

    Both weeks required. If you register before March 15th we will offer you a payment plan if needed. If you register and pay in full by March 15th, you will receive $50 off your tuition. Performance at PAC Theatre on Saturday, July 27th.

    *Current Contemporary levels 3 and 4 or a minimum of three years of Contemporary dance training required. If unsure of your placement, email us at dance@fscatn.org to schedule a placement.*

    AGE: 12 & Up

    DATE: July 15-27

    TIME: 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, Half day Saturday

    DRESS CODE: Women’s Dress Code: leotard, leggings or studio pants, shirt. Men's Dress Code: Black t-shirt, black leggings, black athletic pants, dance belt, socks, hair out of the face. Additional Items Needed: pilates mat, small ball, theraband, journal, and writing utensils.

  • Ballet Classique: Paquita Intensive

    Ballet Classique is a local favorite two week, fully immersive classical ballet intensive that follows a full-time pre-professional training schedule, allowing dancers to learn and master authentic repertoire from a historical masterwork in the internationally recognized classical ballet canon . This summer, our study is the Spanish Napolean-era ballet Paquita! Students will immerse themselves in this iconic ballet, learn its history, and hone their technique and artistry to tell Paquita’s story culminating in an exciting one evening performance at FSSD Performing Arts Center.

    Each day will include a conditioning pilates class, ballet and pointe technique classes, men’s and women’s variations classes, rehearsal, a concert style contemporary class and choreography, ballet history, devotions and more! For further detail, see our sample intensive schedule below.

    We cherish this opportunity to pour into our dancer’s spiritually and emotionally! Teaching our students to care for their bodies, mind, and spirit, while training in their art form is the very heartbeat and soul of FSCA. We look forward to working hard with you in our studios this July!
